We're honored to open this section with an interview to Serenity Vixen-Kristan, one of the most important figures in the history of Second Life Porn, and our Lifetime Achievement Award selection for the SX Awards V.

In the very beginning the world of Second Life Porn focused on the work of a limited number of prolific directors. Their vision and creativity have been the sparkle from which the Adult Business generated. But it was a niche group. If today's SL Porn is one of the biggest communities in Second Life with it's thousands of members and dedicated side businesses, that's thanks Serenity Kristan. Her relentless work and brilliant intuitions opened up the doors of SL Porn and made it accessible to any aspiring pornstar, giving to everybody a chance to create their own path in this world. The InWorld group 'The Sexiest: Pornstars' has become the home of Porn in Second Life, turning a group of photographer and actors into a community of friends, who share their passion and work together to create new, original contents. In a career that started over 10 years ago Serenity has revolutionized the world of Porn in SL, and it's crazy to think that it all happened by chance...
Serenity Vιχєn-Kristan: "It all started when I was planning a porn video really as a promo tool for my escort agency and the escort club. Which I co-owned with Louise Faulds, Club Erotique. I saw videos from Amy Kitten-Parx who was a big inspiration for me in the early days, i thought it would be the perfect way to advertise the club. So, i made a video and uploaded it to Naughty Machinima. I didn't think much more about it. Then within a day I got a message from somebody called Emmanuelle Jameson! Telling me she loved the video, and sent me a link to her blog, where it had been featured and reviewed! Her kind words blew me away, so did finding out there was a whole Second Life Porn scene, plus Emma's "Pornstars" group, the true roots of Second Life Porn. We became close friends following that, and have been ever since. I went on to work on her blog firstly, and eventually co owning it and her Pornstars Group"
The collaboration and friendship between Emmanuelle Jameson and Serenity Kristan has been the driving force of SL Adult Business, from which generated a series of events which shaped the Porn Community as we know it today, like the daily Porn Parties or the Sexiest Awards, the first Big Event of the SL Adult Industry, from which the SX Awards descend...
Serenity Vιχєn-Kristan: "Myself and Louise started the parties at Club Erotique, Gallery openings too...Emma of course launched the ultimate "Hollywood" thing, The Sexiest Awards. It was her invention, our "Oscars", which was typical of Emma, to put such a spin on making our Group feel very glitzy and glam. Emma chatted to me about the concept and asked what I thought, and I loved the ideas, and gave some input in to shaping them. I had fun blogging the awards for many years, covering the events, and did some duties as head judge also. But the tributes for the concept, and logistics of building the Sexiest Awards, all have to go to Emma 100%."
Promoting the Adult Photography has probably been the intuition that changed the SL Porn scene forever. Through photography every member had a chance show their skills and promote themselves, even if they lacked the skills and technical tools to create a movie...
Serenity Vιχєn-Kristan:"I pushed Photography because I saw so many wishing to be active "Pornstars". I felt the amount of photo models alone would open up things so much. Making many more people feel special...Photographers too, also became big names."
Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Serenity's work is that she's been able to transform what once was a niche group of people into a global, welcoming community without betraying it's original spirit. It's indeed in her own work as a director that you can still find the traits of the early days Second Life Porn production, those who attracted her to the business over 10 years ago..."When I got on to the actual scene, I started seeing movies by Hard Rust, Alexus Minotaur etc, which not only had hot porn in them, they also had funny plots, and good stories...I loved that and knew that's what i wanted to do. They made my imagination start working. So, I found my niche in fun plots, with a good amount of porn in among the story. My movies have really been an evolution of that. Parodies especially. I've really been trying to have fun with it all. I have done Sci Fi, Star Wars, and even Jurassic Park parodies! Taken a journey in a VW camper in my "Grand Tour" trilogy with Louise too.
The same passion and dedication that drove her since the beginning of her career into porn is still pushing strong in her, and thankfully for us, she doesn't plan to stop anytime soon...
Serenity Vιχєn-Kristan: "I have really settled on a area I love so much, the 1980's. My "Electric Pornstars" movie series. Which really has its roots firmly in 1980's "Pop Culture" and it's tongue well and truly in its cheek! ( Among other places. ). "Electric Pornstars" features iconic 80's content, movies, music, fashions, and fads, mixed with a large amount of Second Life Porn! I am loving it, and so full of ideas."
