Born from the ashes of the Glorious Sexiest Awards, the SX Awards is an event organized by the VIR Studios, conceived to celebrate the talent and imagination of the members of the Second Life Adult Industry. The aim of the Awards is to reward the creativity and various skills of the participants, as well as to offer to the members of the SL adult community a platform to get more visibility to their work as well as their personality. To do so we put a special emphasis on the formula with which the Awards are assigned, to make sure that each winner is picked by his talent rather than his popularity. To do so, every year we select a panel of independent judges, choosen among the respected veterans and former members of the community. With this choice, in the years the SX Awards have also become a bridge between the old and the new generations of pornstars, as well as bringing back to the scene former Stars of the Adult Industry, that are now active members of the community. Since the last edition, we decided to supplement Awards with a Popular Vote, which runs in parallel with the Jury, so for each Category are assigned two Awards: One assigned through the Judges Vote and a second Award, assigned through the Popular vote. As well as for the vote of the Jury, we stress the importance to have a fair vote, and for this reason the Popular Vote is governed by a formula designed to avoid that the vote is affected by the popularity of the contestants.
SX Awards I
The very first Edition of the SX Awards was announced in the May issue of the SX Magazine in 2016, with 8 Categories: Best Photo, Best Photographer, Best Female Model, Best Male Model, Best Movie, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor. The Winners for each Category were announced in a Gala Event hosted by Monique LeFry, where along with the SX Awards were also assigned Lifetime Achievement Awards to Tatiana Easterwood and Rysan Fall, for their extraordinary acheievements in their long careers as a photographer and moviemaker, respectively.

With the Second Edition of the Awards, the categories in the competition expanded to 12, with addition of the Categories Best Editing, Best Storyline and Best Cinematography for the Movie Categories, and with the partition of the Best Photo Category in the Best Erotic Photo and Best Explicit Photos categories. At the Gala Event hosted for the first time by Persia Bravin, Lifetime Achievement Awards were assigned to Priscila Balogh and Quin Ying, legendary models and producers of the SL Adult Industry.

In the Third Edition to remark the closeness of the SX Awards to the SL Adult Community, were created new Categories according to the popular weekly trands within the community: Happy Ass Monday, Topless Tuesday and Fellatio Friday. So the number of Categories in which Awards were assigned grew to 16, with the addition of the Best H.A.M. Category, Best T.T. Category, Best F.F. Category and Best Sex Scene Category. The SX Awards III also mark the start of the collaboration with the Surfer's Bay, where the Gala Event will take place even for the current edition. The Lifetime Achievements for the 3rd Edition of the SX Awards was assigned to Emily, the most active and productive producer of the SL Adult Industy, who with her weekly events dedicated to pornstars, is still the cornerstone of the community.

SX Awards IV
The Fourth Edition of the SX Awards recorded a boom of submission, which made the Awards one of the most popular events in SL. This edition was also the most inclusive, with the addition of new categories dedicated to the transexual members of the SL Adult community, so along with the 16 categories of the previous edition, new Awards were assigned for the Best Trans Actor and Best Trans Model Categories.
That year the collaboration with The Surfer's Bay VIP became even more strong, with the creation of the Best New Comer Category sponsorized by the Surfer's Bay VIP team, in which an SX Award was assigned to the best contributors to the SL Adult Business in their first year of activity. To cap the event the committee decided to assign the Lifetime Achievement Award to Zoey Winsmore, for her years long contribution to the community both as a producer and for the her work in the social events, which are still a key moment for the many players of the business.

Even the pool of participants got bigger, thanks to the addition of the new Best Adult Blogger category, which brought to SX Awards a number number of players that usually are not directly involved in the SL adult scene. that didn't mean a change of spirit for the event, whose roots strong are deep in the SL Adult Business, and constantly work to best represent the skills and creativity of the members of the community, also through the introduction of the new Best Explicit Set Category. The efforts were rewarded by an outstanding increase in the number of applications to the contest, which lead to an explosion of the number of votes and visits to the website. The 5th edition of the Awards was also the beginning of a new partnership with the Forbidden Paradise Sim, where will be celebrated the next Galas.
The SX Awards V surely was a special edition, and that's specially true if you look at the pool of Judges who walked with us during the whole process. Ali Lancrae, Surrealia, Serenity Kristan, Tatiana Easterwood, Stroker Serpentine and Priscila Balogh brought to the contest an unmatched mix of skills, expertise and knowledge that are the best assurance for the fairness of the contest. The Lifetime Achievement Award for the 5th Edition of the Awards were assigned to Serenity Kristan and Ali Lancrae. In one of the most challeging years for the SL Porn, our community embraced the challenge and has been able to create new ways to express the talent and creativity of its players.
